Looking for a high precision rotary solenoid with a long lifetime? Kendrion’s Cylindrical Rotary Solenoids are available with pivotal movements between 25° and 95° implemented with a low drive complexity. The rotary motion starts when the coil is energized and the armature wants to close the existing air gap so it starts rotating until it reaches an end stop. Then either a return spring or a second rotary solenoid used as a reversing solenoid is used to achieve the return action. The reversing rotary solenoids actually work like two rotary solenoids combined in one housing making the end position of the first solenoid the start position of the second. These solenoids don’t require a return spring and are much more efficient. The Cylindrical Rotary Solenoids are the only solenoids with a reversible option. They are available in 6 different sizes with diameters ranging from 25 mm to 100 mm. There is an insensitivity to linear acceleration due to symmetrical rotational features of the solenoids making the Rotary Solenoids a great fit for many different transportation applications including vehicles, aircrafts and ships. Some of the most common applications also include sorting mechanisms, counting devices, and throttle valves.
