Monostable rotary solenoids of the D & E series (formerly Kuhnke rotary solenoids)
These universally applicable rotary solenoids feature a ball-bearing mounted shaft and ensure low backlash and fast and durable operation. They are available in different versions as single rotary solenoids with return springs or as reversing rotary solenoids with two coils. Special designs with special applications, such as plug-in contacts, shaft modification, or customer-specific mounting holes, are available on request.
Compact bistable rotary solenoids CDR
This ball-bearing mounted rotary solenoid is particularly convincing in applications with limited installation space. Fast switching and currentless holding of the end positions are further advantages of this design. Optionally, the rotary solenoids can be equipped with Hall sensors and dampers.
Bistable rotary solenoids PDM
These rotary solenoids impress with extremely fast switching times and a high holding torque. They have been specially optimized for demanding sorting and actuating tasks; they are used, for example, for quick and correct sorting of letters, banknotes, or parcels.
Bistable shuttle solenoids BSM
The BSM043 consists of a rotary solenoid that an aluminum finger has extended. With its bistable design and an angle of rotation of 90°, the assembly is used for secure mounting and dismounting in modern shuttle storage systems.
Rotary solenoids are actuators, just like linear solenoids. They perform a rotary motion with a certain torque over a defined angle of rotation. The mode of operation of rotary solenoids from Kendrion can be monostable as well as bistable. In the monostable design, the resetting is done using a spring. The bistable design is based on the reversal of the supply voltage to change the direction of rotation in a polarized system. Due to the short switching time and the permanent high holding torque, the system needs only little current and therefore works energy-saving.
Bistable rotary solenoids can fix their end positions on both sides with a high holding torque. This gives them a property that is required, for example, for use in sorting technology for switch points. Modern logistics concepts rely on fast and reliable switching with rotary solenoids.
In addition to switching points, rotary solenoids also perform actuating tasks in machines and systems. For the optimal size and design of the actuator, our existing standards can be used, or customer-specific adaptations can be made. The modular design of Kendrion rotary solenoids allows a fast implementation of specific requirements.
Safe interlocks are a further field of application of the rotary solenoids. The energy-saving, bistable concept, as well as the compact size of our compact rotary solenoid, are decisive for the use as latching devices.
