FAQs: Holding & gripping solutions

The new cobot grippers from Kendrion are specially developed end-of-arm tools for use with collaborative robots (cobots). They enable precise, reliable and safe gripping of components in industrial applications.

  • Finger gripper (MFG type) for pick-and-place applications of small to medium-sized objects.
  • Magnetic gripper (HMG type) for pick-and-place applications of ferromagnetic objects.

The Kendrion cobot gripper uses a widely adopted interface in accordance with the ISO-9409-1-50-4-M6 standard. These can be connected to any robot that supports this interface. The grippers are plug-and-play capable. Electrical connections are available.

Finger grippers are particularly suitable for handling small to medium-sized workpieces with different geometries. They are ideal for tasks such as pick-and-place, assembly or packaging.

The finger gripper works electrically and uses movable gripper fingers to precisely grip and release objects. The gripping force is adjustable and enables safe handling of sensitive and robust parts.

Yes, Kendrion offers universal interface according to the ISO-9409-1-50-4-M6 standard with a special adapter for common cobot manufacturers such as Universal Robots, Doosan, KUKA LBR, Omron, ABB, and many more.

Yes, the gripping force and speed can be adjusted via the control of the linear solenoid. Kendrion finger grippers use the LHP high performance linear solenoid.

The magnetic gripper uses electromagnetic or permanently excited magnet technology to grip ferromagnetic workpieces. It is activated electrically and the gripping process is particularly fast and reliable.

It is ideal for flat or round parts made of steel or ferrous material - e.g. sheet metal, screws, stamped parts or bearing parts.

Depending on the version, the workpiece either remains securely held in the event of a power failure (with holding magnets) or is automatically released (with lifting magnets). Kendrion offers models with a fail-safe function.

With high-quality magnetic grippers from Kendrion, residual magnetism is minimal or is reduced by integrated demagnetization functions. Details can be found in the respective data sheet.

Yes, Kendrion offers technical documentation, online support and, on request, training for optimal integration and use of the Cobot grippers.

All relevant documents are available on the official Kendrion website or via technical customer support.

Yes, if required, Kendrion can develop individual solutions, e.g. special gripper finger designs, modified geometries or adapted control units.
