Piston cooling valves
for pollutant reduction, permanent lubrication, faster engine heating and for piston temperature control
How does a piston cooling valve allow quicker warmup times?
Inspired by the current issues of downsizing and emission reduction, KENDRION has developed and successfully introduced a new generation of the piston-type cooling valve for the Euro 6 standard in the global market.
Piston cooling via oil spray reduces thermal loads and temperature gradients while the engine is hot. This is not necessary during warmup. The piston cooling valve can stop the oil spray for quicker warmup and also control the piston temperature during operation. Both pollutant emissions and oil consumption are significantly reduced.
Evolutionary design improvements allow a weight reduction of 64 % and energy consumption reduction of 66 % compared to existing solutions. Our product is probably one of the best in the market!
