Modbus is a communication protocol that enables data exchange between a master and several slaves. The open protocol is nowadays an industry standard for connecting controllers with IO systems and measurement and control systems.
With the control systems from Kendrion, the configuration of the Modbus master can be conveniently carried out in the CODESYS Development System.
Communication with Modbus TCP takes place via TCP/IP packets of an Ethernet connection.
Modbus RTU communication takes place via a serial connection RS-232 or RS-485 if several slaves are connected.
