Process heat, straight to the point.
Conventional solutions such as cartridge heaters, heating bands, infrared heaters, and gas- or thermal-oil-based systems can quickly reach their limits at lower heating powers. They tend to respond comparatively slowly and often heat surrounding components and the environment in addition to the actual process. This can extend heat-up times and create additional energy losses. Instead, the SHS uses direct induction heating, generating heat directly within the component without contact, reducing heat-up times and enabling more efficient energy use. In certain applications, energy savings of up to 75 percent can be achieved compared to conventional heating methods. An integrated PT1000 input allows the temperature to be recorded directly at the process point. Together with the internal control function, this establishes a closed-loop control system that continuously monitors the temperature and reduces temperature overshoot when processing sensitive materials.

Designed for integration into machine architectures
For machine builders, the effectiveness of a heating solution relies not just on its heating capacity but also on its compatibility with existing automation systems. The SHS runs on a single-phase 230 V power supply and can connect directly to the machine control system through PROFINET, EtherCAT, or CANopen. For applications featuring multiple heating zones, several generators can be connected in a modular setup. Its compact, book-size format allows installation in the control cabinet, with minimal space requirements. The system therefore addresses common heating tasks in the food, packaging, textile, and plastics industries, including cooking and baking tools, sealing stations, and heated rollers and godets.
Technologically, the SHS builds on Kendrion’s existing induction portfolio and more than 50 years of expertise in industrial control, regulation, and heating technology. Kendrion will present the new SHS to a wider professional audience for the first time at SPS in Nuremberg from November 24 to 26, 2026. Visitors can find Kendrion in Hall 4, Booth 418.
