Safety that Drives

Electromagnetic Oscillating Systems for Reliable Feeding Processes

Whether in food production, the pharmaceutical industry, or electronics manufacturing – feeding systems are used across many sectors. At Kendrion, we provide the ideal drive solution for every application. The electromagnetic oscillating systems of the Oscillating Line are manufactured using a special process. By applying backlack technology, we achieve a higher power density compared to similar products.

For over 100 years, we have been developing and manufacturing electromagnetic components for industrial companies around the world. Our electromagnetic oscillating systems offer the perfect solution for the accurate feeding of randomly arranged parts and for continuous material handling. The product range extends from individual excitation systems to complete linear conveyor systems with integrated springs and defined oscillation amplitudes, all the way to electronic control units.

The Oscillating Line comprises five product types: the range includes oscillating solenoids and impact vibrators, linear vibrators, arc vibrators, and electromagnetic shakers. The OAC oscillating solenoids feature a very robust design and operate with absolute reliability, even under harsh environmental conditions. Unlike conventional solutions, the laminations in our solenoids are stacked and pressed into packets. As the magnets are joined by only a single ground seam and bonded using backlack, eddy current losses and reactive power are significantly reduced.

How our oscillating solenoids and vibrators work in detail is explained by Laurence Setijoso, Market Segment Manager Magnet Technology, and Albert Münch, Market Manager Automation, in a  short video.

Our oscillating solenoids can be continuously controlled via the drive voltage and are available in many different sizes. The magnets drive, among others, bowl feeders, vibrating tables, multihead weighers, particle analysis sieves, and linear feeding systems. Unlike asymmetric drives, the OAC vibration solenoids deliver full performance immediately after switching – without start or stop effects.

Impact vibrators of the OMW series are suitable, for example, for filling containers in the packaging and pharmaceutical industries and for dosing particle feeding in measuring and analysis devices.

Linear vibrators of the OLV series are used for bunker and container vibration but can also serve as pump or dosing drives. Arc vibrators of the OAB series are often used for precise dosing of powders and granulates but also as electromagnetic pump drives. Shakers of the OSR series are used for compacting granulate mixtures or vibrating containers.

We offer our electromagnetic oscillating systems in various voltages and frequencies. In addition, numerous coil variants are available for independent 24-V operation, allowing the systems to be used worldwide without modification.

For applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries, the oscillating solenoids can be optionally provided with a cathodic dip coating.

"This makes them resistant to acids and prevents rust formation,” explains Albert Münch.

All oscillating systems can also be customized to meet specific customer requirements.
