Precision in motion - solutions for smart automation

Kendrion presents innovative automation solutions at automatica 2025

Kendrion is presenting an extensive product portfolio for industrial automation and robotics at automatica 2025. Visitors can experience the trade fair innovations in action at a live demonstrator: An innovative electromagnetic stopper for workpiece carriers and a shuttle finger for the safe storage and retrieval of goods. Other trade fair highlights include new electromagnetic end effector solutions for cobots and extremely reliable optical shutters.

The component specialist Kendrion has developed a new stopper for transfer systems: It can stop and release workpiece carriers with damping. The stopper is based on a linear solenoid that achieves high forces with a small size. As it switches very quickly, it is ideal for systems with short cycle times.

"We are setting new standards with the further development of our stoppers based on the powerful and reliable solenoids of the LHP series and a specially developed lever mechanism," says Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Simone Knoblauch, Head of Development and Design at Kendrion.

In contrast to conventional pneumatic versions, the new electromagnetic stoppers from Kendrion do not require expensive compressed air. Operators of intralogistics systems can therefore reduce their operating costs by using the stoppers.

Innovative Electromagnetic Grippers

Two new practical gripper solutions for cobots will also take center stage at the trade fair booth in Munich. With the Magnet Finger Gripper MFG, workpieces can be held and moved quickly and safely. The gripper is also based on high-performance linear solenoids from Kendrion's LHP series, which offer a uniquely high power density.

Another new addition to Kendrion's product range is the Holding Magnet Gripper HMG that holds and moves ferritic workpieces without positive locking using only magnetically generated forces.

Shuttle Finger: Plug-and-play solution for safe and efficient handling

There are two possible applications for the BSM043 shuttle finger: On the one hand, the finger can pull or push packages or workpiece carriers from the rack onto a storage vehicle. Secondly, it can be used to secure workpieces on workpiece carriers with conveyor belts during transportation.

One advantage over conventional motorized shuttle fingers is the significantly reduced operating costs, as the BSM043 holds both positions without electricity. The electromagnetic shuttle finger is therefore ideal for securing loads in automated guided vehicles (AGVs). In addition, the BSM043 is significantly faster and its service life is considerably longer than that of the motor including gearbox.

Optical Shutters: Fast and safe

Kendrion will also be exhibiting highly reliable compact optical shutters for light and laser blocking in Munich. The shutters for different angles of rotation have a service life of at least 10 million switching cycles, offer fast switching times of less than 10 ms and have high repetition rates. In addition, the shutters have integrated end position detection and require only a low drive power.

Hidden Heroes: Control Systems & Brakes for maximum safety

Kendrion will also be presenting proven solutions for safe and efficient automation at automatica 2025: the Control Systems portfolio includes powerful industrial controllers, HMI components and modular I/O and safety modules. The range is complemented by safety brakes - including the Servo Line with integrated emergency stop function, the Servo Slim Line for hollow shaft drives in lightweight robots and the High Torque Line, which offers a higher torque with the same size compared to conventional solutions.

Visit Kendrion at automatica from June 24 - 27, 2025 in Munich in hall B6 at booth 128.
