In the Commercial Vehicles business area, components and systems for commercial vehicle and special vehicle applications are developed and produced worldwide. Here the focus is placed on development of intelligent electronic systems and their integration in customer-specific applications. Areas of application for our products are primarily in the areas of commercial vehicles (bus, truck), construction and agricultural machinery, municipal vehicles as well as fire-protection technology and gensets.
History and tradition
In 1971, Karl Heinz Linnig set up an engineering office for drive technology. His first own development brought him a breakthrough: An electromagnetic fan clutch for buses/coaches - innovatively based on the "steel on steel" working principle.
The new development had major advantages: High loading capacity and stability of switchable torque. The market immediately realized these advantages, and thus, Karl Heinz Linnig's innovation became globally renown, sparking rapid growth of his Company...
Since 1978, technologies for electromagnetic drive applications of commercial vehicles are being developed at the head office in Markdorf.
In 2007, the company was sold to the Dutch group Schuttersveld N.V. – today known as Kendrion N. V.
