The precise laser shutters are based on proven rotary solenoids and are available as standard and customized solutions. They are used in medical, analytical, and surgical instruments, in mass photometry, in aviation, in engraving and marking systems, and in fiber optic signal transmission systems.

The optical shutters impress with their extremely reliable function over at least 10 million switching cycles. They work even under extreme temperature conditions. They are resistant to shocks and vibrations. Thanks to their compact design and low weight, the laser shutters require only low drive power. Optical shutters with shutter blades in various shapes and materials can be equipped with an integrated sensor for position detection if required.

Rotary solenoid for precise X-ray control

Our standard shutter D2 protects patients and medical staff from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation in radiology.

In combination with a lead paddle, the X-rays are reliably blocked and, if required, released with a reaction time of approx. 30 ms. The optical shutter also impresses with its compact design, long service life and fail-safe function (in the event of a power failure).

Protection shutter for Laser in AGVs

Kendrion offers electromagnetic components to enhance the efficiency of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in various applications. The Shutter D23 laser provides a quick switching time of approximately 30 ms to block laser beams for protection.

Using rotary solenoids D2 as a base, Kendrion provides reliable optical shutters with at least 10 million switching cycles for continuous operation, including an integrated damping mechanism to optimize the bouncing effect.
