Product Information

Single-stroke solenoids of the Kendrion ATEX Line are designed for proper use in explosion-prone areas, e.g. in plant construction, in refineries, oil entrepots and on oil platforms. Due to the explosion protection significant measures have been taken with these electromagnetic drive elements to prevent the occurrence of sparks, arcs and too high temperatures.

The effect of the solenoid is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies in the magnetic field. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical energy. Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke end position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement).

All products are manufactured and tested according to DIN VDE 0580/07.2000.
