Bremen, June 2018 At the “Actuator 2018” Gerald Puchner, Head of Development of the Kendrion Industrial Magnetic Systems group, gave an inspiring specialist lecture on the development history of electromagnetic actuators. In an exciting talk Andrey Gadyuchko, development engineer at the Kendrion Mechatronics Center Ilmenau, presented the intelligent testing device MagHyst® which allows to determine the magnetic properties of materials and actuators.
Based on a wide range of physical operating principles - from piezoelectricity to magnetism and their applications - the scientific conference “Actuator” in Bremen is concerned with the topic of actuator technology. 270 experts from all over the world gathered in Bremen at the end of June to listen to 85 scientific talks on the topic.
In his lecture, which was prepared in cooperation with Neil Richmond, Global Sales Manager of Kendrion Industrial Drive Systems, Puchner concentrated on Kendrion’s core competence - the electromagnetic actuator technology. He highlighted the development of the electromagnet from the past, when 200 years ago the first electromagnet was developed, to the present, with the further development of the electromagnet in the field of tension between emerging megatrends and technologies.
