Inspired by the current issues of downsizing and emission reduction, Kendrion Passenger Cars has developed and successfully introduced the new generation of the piston-type cooling valve for the Euro 6 standard in the global market. The piston cooling valve allows faster heating of the engine during cold start by reducing the oil cooling circuit. Both the emissions of pollutants and the oil requirements are significantly reduced as well as the lifetime of the oil pump. The reduction in size also allows a weight saving of 300 g (64%). The energy consumption drops by 8.5 W (66%), while the flow rate rises to 32 l/min. The further developed generation enables a simple adaptation to existing building spaces.
Depending on the requirements, the following applications have a common operating voltage of 12 V to 24 V and are designed for a temperature range of -40 °C to 150 °C.
