In 1971, Karl Heinz Linnig set up an engineering office for drive engineering in Friedrichshafen. Already with the first own development of an electromagnetic fan clutch for coaches, based on the “steel on steel” working principle, new standards were set in this specialty area. The high acceptance and increasing demand for LINNIG fan clutches provided for swift growth of LINNIG Antriebstechnik. Company headquarters have been in Markdorf since 1978. Today - one part of the Kendrion group since 2007 - there are employeed staff about 170 people at the location in Markdorf and another 50 employees at the locations in the Untited States, Mexico, Brasil, China and India.
