Being an industrial mechanic (m/f) is one of the most important and versatile metal professions. Apprentices are taught craftsmanship from the bottom up. After intensive training of metal basics, objectives are producing and assembling machine components as well as set-up, testing and repair of electro-pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. The apprenticeship has practical orientation, and learning to work in a team is vital.

Possible applicational fields are automation technology, repair and maintenance, mechanical engineering and construction, production technology and fine-apparatus engineering.

School requirements:
- O-level or a decent secondary modern school or junior high qualification

Personal characteristics:
- A certain degree of craftsmanship
- Interest in technical processes and technology
- Plenty of commitment
- Sociability and capacity for teamwork
- Keen perception and openness for new things

- 3.5 years

Kendrion (Villingen) GmbH, Villingen-Schwenningen
Apprentices are trained to become industrial mechanics within a three and a half year term, in cooperation with the Continental Automotive GmbH. Within this period, the apprentices are educated and trained in various departments of both companies.

Kendrion LINNIG GmbH, Markdorf
The Markdorf location has its own apprentice workshop. Here, knowledge and skills of the profession are taught in an optimal manner, and the apprentices are given the possibility to get a close-up view in the individual departments.
Kendrion Magnettechnik GmbH, Donaueschingen.
Apprentices are trained to become industrial mechanics within a three and a half year term, in cooperation with the Continental Automotive GmbH. Within this period, the apprentices are educated and trained in various departments of both companies.

Kendrion (Donaueschingen/Engelswies) GmbH, Donaueschingen
The trainees get educated within a cooperation between the Continental Automotive GmbH and Kendrion. During the three and a half year apprenticeship the trainees get to know serveral divisions from both companies.

Kendrion (Donaueschingen/Engelswies) GmbH, Inzigkofen-Engelswies.
The Inzigkofen-Engelswies location has its own apprentice workshop. Here, knowledge and skills of the profession are taught in an optimal manner, and the apprentices are given the possibility to get a close-up view in the individual departments.
