- Low-noise switching
- High forces
Examples of use
- Passenger elevators
- Escalators and moving stairways
- Freight elevators
Kendrion is a manufacturer of breaking solenoids for the elevator industry which are used in particular in brakes for escalators, passenger elevators and freight elevators.
In elevator technology the reliability of the solenoid is the most important feature as impairments to the system may result in extremely high costs for the elevator manufacturer. Low-noise switching and high forces are further properties which both increase convenience and underline the safety of the electromagnetic system.
In order to meet the requirements listed above Kendrion has been optimizing its braking solenoids for elevator construction for over 50 years. The switching noise which occurs when the shoe brakes are released is strongly reduced by integrated stop dampers. In order to further increase the attraction forces it is possible to overexcite the spreader solenoids. In this case the spreader solenoid is overexcited with high power during the actuating stage and afterwards switched to normal excitation.
