The Ilmenau Branch of the Kendrion Mechatronics Center GmbH was founded in 1992 as Steinbeis Transferzentrum Mechatronik by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Prof. h.c. Eberhard Kallenbach, focussing on research transfer from the Mechatronics Group at Ilmenau University of Technology.
Since that time our experienced engineers have been working on the cutting edge of electromagnetic and mechatronic drive technology.
In 2011 the company was reorganised as Steinbeis Mechatronik GmbH.
Kendrion acquired the Steinbeis Mechatronik GmbH in 2015, following Kendrions strategy towards mechatronic solutions, becoming the Kendrion Mechatronics Center GmbH.
The Kendrion Academy GmbH was founded in January 2013 in Villingen-Schwenningen as a limited liability company for research coordination, internal and external networking and knowledge management across all Business Units of the Kendrion Group.
In the course of 2015, both companies were merged, now filing as Kendrion Mechatronics Center GmbH with registered office in Ilmenau.
