Executive Committee


The individual business units have a shared strategy and the Business Unit Managers and the Managing Directors of the individual operating companies collaborate in a wide range of fields, such as engineering, project management, purchasing, production strategy, marketing and sales. The Executive Board, supported by the Vice-President Automotive and the Business Unit Managers and the Chief Technology Officer – together the Executive Committee – takes all significant decisions concerning the strategy and direction of the electromagnetic operations as a whole including the allocation of resources to the individual operating companies. The Executive Committee that meets regularly reviews the financial and operational performance of the individual companies on the basis of the internal management information and identifies the prevalent best practices to be shared and implemented within Kendrion.



Heinz Freitag - Chief Technology Officer

Heinz Freitag (1949) is Chief Technology Officer of Kendrion as per January 2012. Before this period he has been Chief Operating Officer as from January 2009. Before he has been Division Director of Kendrion Electromagnetic. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Konstanz in Germany. He was Production Manager at Binder Magnete GmbH (acquired by Kendrion in 1997) from 1979 to 1984. After a period as Production Manager at Grässlin from 1984 to 1989, he then returned to Binder Magnete GmbH, where he became Managing Director in 1991.

Bernd Gundelsweiler - Vice-President Automotive

Bernd Gundelsweiler (1968) is Vice-President Automotive since 2012 . He studied Precision Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. After earning his doctorate he started at Kendrion in 2003. He became Managing Director in 2007 and Business Unit Manager in 2008.




Norman Graf - Industrial Magnetic Systems

Norman Graf (1963) is Business Unit Manager of Kendrion Industrial Magnetic Systems since 2003. He studied mechanical engineering. The last 18 years, Mr Graf worked in three different companies in Business-to-business companies. He started as a Development Engineer, Project Manager, Key Account Manager, R&D and Purchasing Manager and Business Unit Manager. Since 2003 he is working at Kendrion.



Michael Bernhard - Industrial Drive Systems

Michael Bernhard (1961) is Business Unit Manager of Kendrion Industrial Drive Systems since 2010. He studied Economics and Mechanical engineering at the University of Wilhelmshaven, Germany and is also educated as electronics engineer. In the past Mr Bernhard worked as Division Manager, Key Account Manager, Business Unit Manager and Managing Director for several Global Key Players in the packaging- and filling machine industry and in automation & motion business.


Erik Miersch - Commercial Vehicle Systems
Erik Miersch (1964) has been working as Business Unit Manager for Kendrion Commercial Vehicle Systems since 2013.
After obtaining a degree in engineering, Mr Miersch held different positions at several aviation and automotive supplier companies. His broad professional experience ranges from design engineering to project management and director positions in engineering and sales. Prior to joining Kendrion early 2013, Mr Miersch served as Managing Director in the industrial and healthcare sector.
